hi, I am new at quilting so I thought I would check out this message board. I have enjoyed reading all the messages, and checking out the quilt blocks, they are all really nice. I would like to get envolved in this but right now I am on a quest to make 5 quilts for my grandchildren before Christmas. I have completed 2 of them. One for my newest grandson, and one for his big sister. I designed a quilt block with a scrapbook page as the center of each block, using 9 blocks in all. Each quilt will be special to each child. My grandsons quilt is a monthly account of his first 9 months. His sister loves Florida (they live in New York) so hers is scrapbook pages of her fun times in Florida. Like I said, I am new at this, and hooked already. I will be busy for awhile while I complete 3 more. I work a full time job, and do the office work for my husbands business so my time at the sewing machine is limited.
If someone will guide me in attaching a picture I would love to show my quilts. thanks for allowing me to join this great message board. Everyone sounds so friendly and helpful.

Welcome to the boards ... we have a great bunch of gals who are involved in sewing quilting in different levels and ways!

I think in order to see pictures, just send a link to a webpage (there are many freebie pages you can set up an album) and then direct us where to look!

Your idea of quilts sounds fabulous - busy little gal aren't ya ... keep it up! Hope to hear from you some more later!

Welcome again!

Rose-welcome to the boards! I can't wait to see some pictures of your quilts, they sound awesome! Are you using a computer program to do your scrapbook page and then printing on fabric?

I believe you can post a picture to a web page and then use that url as a link. Photobucket offers free photo posting.......there are several out there.

I would really like to see your quilts. I did a picture quilt of my daughter's wedding. You can go to this site to set up a free account to put your pictures up. Once you do that I can help you make it appear in your message or you can have a link like I do at the bottom of every message and then people can look at their leisure.

Thank you, I am still working on getting a better place to put the pictures.
I am really having fun designing a special quilt for each of my grandchildren. The biggest problem is picking the pictures. I have so many of them I have a hard time deciding which ones to use.

Those are wonderful quilts! What a great idea for your grandchildren. Are you using a particular computer program to design those?

Those are great! I love them. I have a scrapbooking program and used it to make a quilted wallhanging. You can really be creative with the computer and making your own fabric for the blocks.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. Yes I am using a scrapbooking program that I have had for several years. It is no longer available (or at least I can not find a source for it}. Any scrabbooking program will work though. Just use your imagination and your favorite pictures and scrapbook and quilt to your hearts desire. As for the rest of the quilts I am still picking out the pictures for them. Hope to have at least 3 more done by Christmas.
