I just wanted to share this quilted wall-hanging that I did for my dad. I gave it too him on Father's Day. This is the first time that I "hatched quilt". (I think that is what it is called).

Very nice Liz. Those memory type of wall hangings/quilts are so precious. I am sure your dad loves it, and brings tears/smiles to his face when he looks at it. It is a wonderful wall hanging.

Thanks everyone for the kind compliments. I have to tell you that I did not come up with the poem. It is written by Judith Karen Bullock. I bought two picture frames that had this poem incorporated into the matting. My dad saw it and wondered if I could find him one. I couldn't purchase one where I had previously ordered them. So I decided I could do it on my computer. I figured since it was for personal use, I wouldn't be infringing on any copywrites. Originally, I was going to print it on picture paper and put it into a frame, but when I was working on my daughters picture wedding quilt, I decided to try printing it on the fabric. I liked how it turned out on the fabric, so I then made it into the quilted wall-hanging. Of course I was trying to finish this project while my dad was visiting with us. (He lives in N. Carolina). He is always curious about what I'm working on in my sewing room, so he will just pop in to see what I'm doing. He made it almost impossible at times for me to finish it. :re: So, I asked my Uncle (who was also here visiting) to keep him busy and showed him what I was doing. He did, but then of course my sewing machine decided to act up, while I was trying to hurry! I ended up having to use the old seam ripper a couple of times. Well, anyway I got it completed the night before father's day!
Again thanks for the compliments.
