Now this question came from a survey that companies use to find out your personality. It is one of many questions and I will be asking them throughout the game.
When you get in the shower/bath, what is the first thing you wash/clean?

My hair -- then I work my way down since the dirtier parts seem to be the lower ones.

In the shower the first thing I wash is my hair - so I can leave the conditioner on for longest.
In the bath - well a bath isn't worth having without a book and a glass of wine and washing doesn't happen untill I have been marinading for a good 45 minutes. Don't bother washing my hair in a bath - I normally draw a bath just before bed and I can't be bothered to dry my hair. I'll look like a scarcrow in the morning anyway and need to wash my hair then so why bother. First thing I wash in the bath is my face - often to get the face pack off.....

Had to think about this one...........I grab the soap and soap my arms and then go on down.....................then I shave my legs and wash my hair.............always. Made me think about what a creature of habit I am that I always do it the same way.

Now reading the others makes me wonder if I am doing it all wrong? :re:

I agree with Magot..........a bath is for more than getting clean and if I don't have time for the book and the music and the long soak, I just take a shower.

The best is, of course, shower, swim, jacuzzi, sauna, shower, swim, shower - sleep! I am SOOOO clean after that but have no energy!

My face, always has been, whether in the bath or shower. Then my hair, also to let the rinse do its magic and like the rest of you, I work my way down.

Wash my face first then my hair so the conditioner works. Then usually just work my way down. Funny that we are all creatures of habit, huh?

Summer, what do the personality tests have to say about us?

I wash my face first as I use a different soap. Then work down with body wash using a big fluffy thing. I no longer condition my hair but used to do that first. I agree about bathing and relaxing!!

We taught student nurses to bed bath patients face down to waist, then legs down to feet and then use fresh cloth for you know where (except we spelled it out in correct language!). Tradition. Makes one wonder what was being protected from what.

Lyn,
You have to put all the answers together, but one thing is the ones who start at the hair or the face do things in a top to bottom order. The the next question would be 100% of the time or 75%, etc. Some of these question are a hoot and make you wonder what is up.
BTW I brush my teeth the first thing I do in the shower. The I wash my hair and face and so on. Now the reason I brush my teeth started about 13 years ago. I was under such stress, that brushing my teeth made me vomit. Anything in my mouth except coffee, M and M's and my cigs, and sometimes crackers would make me vomit. So one day I was in the shower getting ready for work and grab my toothbrush and toothpaste, brushed my teeth with the water running down my face and I didn't vomit. For 3 years I had to do this and now it has become every day with me. Since that is never one of the choices in this question I always answered wash my hair. :re:

My mother always used to tell me I did things backward..........I ironed backward, I hand sewed backward and now after all these years I am discovering that I take a SHOWER backward.............so far I think I am the only one who washes my hair at the end of the shower.......................oh well, glad to see I am consistant if nothing else................

Will never get in the shower now without thinking about how I am doing it wrong...........LOL So tell me, what does that say about my personality???

No one takes a shower backwards. We all take it our way. As I said you have to answer all the questions, but you start from the bottom and work up.
Now maybe you see the big picture, before you start something, where as the ones who start from the top may only see the steps. Anyways this is just one of over a 100 questions, and I found a few of these quite charming.

Face first, cuz I have oily skin, then hair, then top to bottom. Always end with shaving my legs [in summer, anyway.] I take a bath just to soak the stress away, but have to take a shower after, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always wash my hair first in the shower to leave the conditioner on longer. In the tub, I wash my face first. Looks like I am like most people here.
I sometimes brush my teeth in the shower too. It's like having a giant water pic. :bg:

I only take showers...and only wash my hair every second day, so on the days that I do, I start with the hair...then it is definitely from the top down.

I seldom use the bathtub. Showers are for me. I wash my face, clean ny ears & brush my teeth before I get in the shower. In the shower I wash my hair first, put on a little conditioner & rinse it out quick. I have fine hair & use conditioner only to get the tangles out. From there it's top to bottom wash, rinse the body & rinse the hair one more time. When I seldom do use the tub I shower afterwards as I don't feel clean unless I rinse off.

I forgot to say I wash my hair at the end so you aren't the only one, Julies Nana! :bluewink: I grew up in my grandparents house that was built in the early 1900's that didn't have a shower, only an old claw foot tub. No wonder we didn't wash our hair every day!! I didn't learn how to take a shower, other than at the beach to get the sand out until I was 30 and got married. I even tubbed while living in residences. Showers sure are quicker. I do have a friend who was taught tub baths are dirty, and some cultures do clean before getting into the tub.

How many people have had to relearn their cleaning over the years and how did you learn?

Somehow I have always thought brushing one's teeth in the shower gross - and never had any room for a toothbrush and paste. Now I have a sonic brush and would be afraid of a shock!

I don't brush my teeth in the shower either. I also use the sonicare tooth brush & don't think it would shock you in the shower. It's run off a batteries that is charged with electric. When we use the brush it's not connected to electric. Sure way to find out is to call the 800 # for sonicare & ask. Doesn't sound like you care to ever brush your teeth in the shower & I'm not either. Someone else may be wondering too though. I was raise with a shower. Maybe that's why when I do use the tub I I rinse off in the shower. I don't feel clean just getting out of the tub & drying off after I've washed in that water. Has to be a mind thing. :re:
