had surgery today, posponed from last week, due to the hurricane and no electricity at the vets...
She died.
We were told at the rescue that she was 5, but the vet today said she was 8-9..she had undiagnosed conjestive heart failure. (4 vets didn't pick up on it, including the one today) She died during anesthesia.
That makes 5 ferrets in 19,1/2 mnths.
She was actually Dads baby, but tolerated me most of the time. (she must have been brought up by a man or boy, women were not her favorite).
I've had a long, sad, bad day, again...she was a weird little thing, but she was nice and she was cute...I miss her already. (we showed the other 3 that she was dead, Mikey cleaned her ear for her, he liked to do that. It scared Piper and Sam, well he was Sam, he wanted to know why she wasn't moving, so he could pounce and bite her). Piper has a vet appt for thursday...she might have an adrenal tumor like Zoey...we'll see...
I'm tired now.
Thanks for listening,
Kath

i was sent this link when we had to put our dog down a month or so ago, after nearly 16 plus years

our new little one, Winston, a black pug, 3 months tomorrow, is now the joy of our lives.

our cat has a heart murmur that sounds like a "washing machine" according to the vet, but as long as she is running and eating ect, the vet said she mine as well have a good life, she may be around for years, or she might go see her doggy brother and sister tomorrow, but for now she is busy running form Winston :re:

So sorry Chrys. :bluesad:

Carman, sorry about your dog too. :bluesad: That's a sweet poem. I found it for my daughter when we put our cat down last year.
