I'm trying to find either a pattern or one I can redraft to make a vintage spanish inspired Christmas dress...I can picture it in my head but am having troubles with the finding the perfect pattern. :D What I'm picturing is a mid calf length dress with fitted bodice and a full skirt that will have ruffles...I think lots of ruffles....

Anyone know of a site that I could visit that sells patterns other than the big 3? There's got to be one out there, just not doing the right searches or something.

Thanks
Dawna

Kids patterns are hard to find. Hmmm, Maybe an exaggerated pageant dress.

Have you tried Folkwear? They have some great ethnic patterns. I love them. Childrens' patterns there are more limited than adults. But the patterns are so simple it would be easy to get an adult pattern and alter, IMHO.

And no, Folkwear is not my solution to EVERYTHING!

I did look at folkwear quickly, but didn't think to look through the adult patterns...but...it would be easy enough to redraft...well...follow the general idea if I can find something. Thanks for the thought! I love folkwear too, they've got some great stuff! :D

Try this one. It is for adults, but when you can draw you can resize them.

Good luck.
With kind regards,

This is a good site for pattern both costume and contemporary:

http://www.gbacg.org/buying.htm

http://www.folkwear.com/patternindex.html

Both of these are good pattern sources are very good. I don't know if you will find anything that you want or not, but they are well worth a bookmark. Most of your problem will be the size you are looking for.
