I'm almost finished with this book. My daughter has been waiting for this book to come out since she finished the 5th book. I had to wait until she was finished with it before I could read it. :bluewink: Now she's started over again with the first one.
There's lots of surprises in this one.
DD has been telling my mother the stories of Harry Potter and now my mother wants to read them. :bg:
My husband finds it funny that I like them almost as much as our daughter. I told him he might like them too if he read them.

Who else is reading it?

I got mine on Saturday and finished it on Monday I think. I won't be a spoiler but I did shed a tear. Can't help myself I am a softy. HP was one of my Christmas prezzies from my spouse. I think I came so quick because it had been on pre order since Dec.

Now I want to re-read them all again.

Bought the book for DD last Saturday and she finished it Tuesday. She hasn't told me anything about the book, but just says she is very upset with J.K. Rowling! DH is the next to read the book, he reads very fast...then my turn.

My beloved bought it for me as soon as it was published on Saturday - read it the same day ensconced in a comfy chair in the garden while enjoying one of the few warm and sunny days we have had.

I enjoyed the book - I've read all of them. I get the impression that J.K is setting the scene for the final book (she always said she would only write 7 books, one for each of Harry Potter's years at school) as there are many loose ends that need tying up.

Yes, there are many loose ends that need tying. My daughter is already listing some of them. She has her theories. :dave:
I have one thing about it that is puzzling me, but I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it yet. Hopefully, it will be explained in book 7.

This book is alot darker than any of the ones before. It reminded me of Lord of the Rings. If they made a movie of this one, I think it would be pretty scary for very young kids.

I wish J.K. Rowling would decide to keep writing about Hogwart's. I would love to see a book about the Weasley family.

My husband and I both love the HP books. One of my brothers (they are twins) reads them. My DH and I have all the hardbacks and my 9yr old son has the paperbacks. I was surprised with this one quite a bit. The next one should be a doosy. Sometime I wish I had waited to read them till she had them all out. Now I'm tapping my foot waiting to see what's going to happen next. LOL :re:
