Hi, I have flannel fabric that I want to make into baby blanket. I can't seem to find the color flannel to match. But I do have a knit that will work. Can I used flannel & knit together on my serger? Thanks Valerie |

sure just make sure you flannel is pre washed a couple of times. it tends to shrink more then other fabric in my opinion. I mix fabrics all the time. One time I made flannel pjs for the kids and the pants were flannel and I made knit shirts with flannel sleeves. The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

I totally agree with aimee, made a baby blanket in flannel with a knit backing and it has washed up fantastic. Made sure I washed everything first before sewing it up.

I mix fabric types on a regular basis too, flannel backed with polar fleece makes a nice baby blanket

Hi, that is great I can used different fabric for baby blankets. Next question is I had some rayon baby colors thread. I use it up & need some more. Also that is ok to use the pretty rayon threads they have? I use it on some other baby blankets & it sure makes it baby looking. Thanks for all the info. Valerie |

Hi, I try flannel with knit. The knit seems to be more stretchy & I wash them both 2 times. I do like the blanket. But I won't do flannel & knit together again. Valerie |
