Hi everyone

I have a gathering foot for my Janome 6500.. what do you set the machine to to use these and come away with nice gathers for add on ruffles.. I'm not talking about a ruffler.. I have one of those too and know how to use that .. This is a tiny foot that moves the fabric into a slight ruffle when you change the tension on you machine.. I also know you have to maintain a steady speed in order for it to look nice.. it suppose to come in handy when making puffing.. you just sew on side then the other and the puffing is made...

TIA for any help..

Other than playing with it, I think I'd stop in at a store that sells Janome and get them to tell me how to use it. I got one for my Pfaff which I hate to say I have never used.

thanks Laura

I have figured it out with the help of someone from another board who has a janome.. I set the tension on 9 and the stitch length on 4.5 and held my finger behind the foot so that the fabric pushed up against my finger while being sewn.. Came out perfect..

thanks for answering..
