I'm just finishing up a semi-fitted jacket with shaped neckline, princess seams in a medium weight polyester blend with a definite elongated bubbly texture. The fabric resembles a crepe in the way that it drapes and handles. I didn't use a fusible interfacing because I couldn't imagine it working right with the texture of the fabric. I do not care for the way the jacket hangs. It looks to me as though it has something inside (and it does) which is keeping it from laying flat. I tried hand basting the interfacing to the facing pieces and I tried serging the two pieces together. Couldn't tell much difference in the end result when I put the garment together. I haven't done the final pressing yet so perhaps it will look better when that is done and the buttons are on and done up. I am concerned about pressing too much and taking the texture out of the fabric. Did I make the right choice in not using a fusible interfacing with this fabric?

I like Fusi-Knit myself. It is very light weight and doesn't bubble up. I think that is what I would have used. I have used it on medium and light to medium weight poly crepe and it worked well.
But telling you that now probably doesn't help much.

I agree with Dorothy on the Fusi-knit. I was told by a seamster/tailor/guy who has a sewing business, about fusi-knit, its all he ever uses and I have really liked how it works.
