Hi, I'm back after a (long) gap. Magot - I tried to pm you, but your message box is full. I just picked up a message you sent me in Oct. last year. Chris is out of prison and living with us again ( his mother didn't want to know...). It hasn't been easy, but things are ok at the moment. He doesn't have a job, and hasn't got much chance of getting one, with a criminal record. Thank you for caring, it means a lot. Lots has happened since I was on here last year; my dad was diagnosed with cancer, and has been through some real tough patches. We are waiting for his last biopsy results. My mum has had ill health, and we are also waiting on some biopsy results for her. Please keep them in your prayers. On a positive note, I got married ( again)! My son graduated with a combined honours degree in history and education, making me the proudest mum out there! I have not done much sewing, due to the arthritis in my wrists, but I have been buying fabric ( still addicted...) and have plans to make myself a suit (got some lovely grey wool fabric). It's quite a straightforward pattern, as I am only a beginner, but don't be surprised if I come asking for help! It's great to be back. Diane :)

Glad to see you Diane, I was away for at least two weeks also. It's funny how you get really busy all at once and get farther and farther away from routine but then you always come back to the familiar people and places. Hang in there your (step?) son will get a job. There are good people out there who will be willing to give him a chance to prove he's worth giving him a chance to prove his regrets of what he did. Congrats on your son graduating, and sorry to hear about Dad and Mum. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Thanks for your comments. It's good to be back, I have really missed logging in each day, to catch up on what everyone's been doing. What I really like about this site is that , no matter what's happening in your life, there is always someone who will listen , and understand, and just "be there" for you. Great sewing tips, too! I am going to have a go at the pull on skirt - looks easy enough for me! Diane :)

Welcome back Diane - I've done some housekeeping and cleaned out my inbox now... glad Chris is out( was it his Dad you married?), Clive( mu BIL) still has 5 1/2 years to do (less obviously for good behaviour) and seems to think he will waltz into a job no trouble - he still doesn't live in the real world. Congrats on your personal ups and commiserations on the downs - it is always the family things that hit hardest. I hope your son has a prosperous and fulfilling career ahead of him. I have a new job (now lab technician at school) hubby is less depressed about his job but we are waiting A level results in Thursday to see if DD2 will go to uni this year or not ( please - she HAS to!) she needs AAB to get where she wants - the A's should be OK it's the B that problematic...DD1 got a prize for being he best first year student in the whole of biology so I join you in the proud Ma stakes - only hope I can say the same after Thursday, I can't live with the emotional roller coaster that is an 18 year old on the edge.. love and kisses, Jan

My dads biopsy results are back and it's good news and bad news. The original tumour has gone, but he has 3 new suspicious(?sp) areas , deep in the bladder wall. He has to go for more biopsies, but has been told he will probably have to have his bladder removed, which is a big op. ( He is 70).Mum is still waiting for her results... Magot, congrats on your new job, you clever girl!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for your daughter, Which uni does she want to go to? And DD1 got a prize too, brains obviously run in the family! Yes, it was Chris's dad that I married. We had lived together for 4 years, and thought it was about time we did things properly. We had a small wedding, just family and friends. Unfortunately neither of my parents were well enough to come, which was upsetting, but we had a lovely day and my sister took my bouquet back for my mum, which made her cry! I am now working at Leicester college on a temp. contract until the end of December, but the LSC has pulled the plug on the funding for the project I work on, so I don't know what will happen. I Know the emotional rollercoaster feeling only too well, right now. Let us know how your DD gets on. Diane :)

Rosie wants to go to Birmingham to read Psychology with a view to becoming a clinical psychologist - Katie is at Preston taking Biology (majoring in physiology/phamacology) her fiancee is reading Herbal medicine and will be practicing by the time they both finish. Katie's bent is more towards the environmental these days but went to Preston as that is where Basil went ( yes - the family herbalist is called -- Basil Moss!) Tony and I both took Applied Biology at Hatfield and he spent 20 years or so researching at the Lab of Molecular Biology ( where Watson and Crick and Perutx and all those other Nobel prize winners worked) before moving into management. Me I am just an old mycologist stimulating children with a ove for science. So yeah, science does kinda run in my family ( my brother is an immunologist..) Keep us in touch withthe news re your Mum and dad - it's haeartbreaking waiting for results but many of us here know how you are feeling.. love and kisses, Jan

Rosie results are in , she got 3 B's - she just missed getting the A's by a whisker... He second choice has accepted her and after an emotional roller coater of a day yesterday she has turned around from thinnking that her second choice was CRAP to Hey! This is a good college! (which it is) So she will be going to Plymouth - this leaves us with some frantic visiting to do as she hasn't actually looked at the place...so with one daughter 5 hours drive North and one & hours drive south it will be interested getting them and their gear around the place..
love and kisses, Jan
