im currently working on cutting patterns out for a asian styled pattern by New Look and according to the envelope i am the following for sizes bust 12 waist 14 hip 14 but according to one of the patterns themselves i am the following bust 8 waist 14 hip 8 and the pattern sizes are for the outfit to be finished. i have no clue what to cut out. ; ; my bust measures 34, waist 34, and hips 38. i know i need 2 different sizes in order to completely sew everything together but i cant figure it out. does anyone know what i should do? |

Remember, if the finished garment measures the exact same as your measurements, then it will be TOO SMALL for you to wear.. Finished garments have to have some ease in them to fit over your body and give you room to move your body parts while wearing the garment.. I will let some of the alterations specialists tell you the rest.. I have trouble there also, sometimes..

I understand your dillemma. What exactly are you making? If you're just making a blouse or top, follow the recommended size for your bust & waist. If you're making a skirt or slacks, you'll have a bit more trouble, as you will have to follow two sizes...you'll start with the correct size for your waist, then blend the line with the correct size for your hips. "No more twist! No more twist!"
