I wonder whether someone could help me.......I'm looking for the directions to a little bag in the Mary Mulari book entitled "Accessories with Style". I saw this on one of the sewing shows quite some time ago and quickly scribbled some directions but I must have written something down wrong because it won't go together correctly......or, I just can't do it correctly - that's more likely the problem!

The actual project is called "Pocket Necklace" and I have everything up to the point where the little bag and the lining go together. I can get them so the bag is right side out and the lining is in correctly but I can't figure out how they get sewn together so that the seam at the top where they join is INSIDE between the lining and the outside where it's supposed to be. :whacky:

I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!

That sounds like something I read somewhere, and then saw on TV.. You leave the bottom of the lining with a space large enough to turn the purse.. put lining on outside of purse, sew together around the top, then turn thru opening left in lining, then Hand sew it together or machine sew it together..Except .. sew the tops together first, then, when you sew the rest of the lining, leave the area in the bottom to turn, then go on from there.. Sorry, I tried to put the cart before the horse..

Thanks, LeapfrogLibby ..... you're absolutely right. The bottom seam on the lining pocket needs to stay open in order for this to work right. I eventually tracked down the original airing on TV ...... I have a collection of videos of sewing shows taped from TV, and amazingly enough, an index for them so if I"m looking for something, I can "easily" find it! (Although truth be known, I can't always find the index!

Thanks for responding though; I appreciate it.
