My DD had gall bladder surgery about 3 weeks ago. The day after surgery her left side was numb & tingly(SP) The DR. told her this could happen & it went away the next day. Then last Friday while she was at work it started again first her face tingled then her arm & it went down into her leg. She called the Dr. 7 they got her right in (they thought maybe a stroke) The Dr. couldn't find anything so she sent her to the ER for a MRI & blood work. It didn't show anything. The sensation went away the next day but she is worried it will come back. I am thinking pinched nerve from the way she was positioned during surgery. Is there anything that can be done for a pinched nerve? she is supposed to follow up with her Dr. She is 26 & I hope she doesn't have to deal with this the rest of her life.

Hey Barb, Sorry to hear about your daughters problems. I don't know the answers to why but I have had pinched nerves before in my neck. They seem to come on for no aparant reason and go away the way they came. I had one last week and could hardly move my arm and head but I took an Aleve in the morning and one at night and it went away. They very well could have pinched a nerve when they operated on her. Let us know how she does.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Thanks Susie. I will let you know what the Dr. says when she gets there. She is worried that they will make her a lot of apptments . she has used all of her sick & vacation time 7 so has her husband. I think they might send her to a chiropractor or physical therapy because that is what they did with my DFIL. But he is 75 & they knew exactly where & What his was.

hhhmmm...your gallbladder is on your right side. (attached to your liver). Most gallbladder surgeries are done lapryproscopically. (4 small incisions. 2 over the gallbladder/liver, one in the middle and one in your bellybutton (thats for the air they fill you with). UNLESS your daughters Dr was a lefty. Then she shouldn't have tingling on her LEFT side. (lefthanded Drs operate from the left). They might have twisted her somehow getting her off and on the operating table. (after your're asleep they really don't care how they treat you.....I've heard some nasty stories...and witnessed a few weird things myself). I had my gallbladder out in 93...the only problems I had, was eating. (I was on a total fat free diet for a yr., because they didn't know what was wrong with me...no fat in the diet, ,my hair fell out, I couldn't remember things and I had to eat 6-7 times a day....after surgery I coudn't eat for awhile. I had to get used to eating things again...that took about 6 mnths. I've heard that from other people too, about the eating thing...) If I had other problems I'd be bugging the Dr....tingling for no reason sounds weird.... Chrys
