Does anyone here subscribe, or pick up the odd volume at the checkout?

I purchased one a few months ago (definatly less than a year) because it had cute croched scarves. I scanned the picture and sent it to my best friend - her special needs foster daughter loves dogs and I thought it would be something I could make her for Christmas this year. These are just 'regular' scarves, but instead of there being a fringe or tassels on the short ends, there are dogs/cats to be crocheted instead.

Little girl loved the picture, I went and purchased the yarn, and now the magazine is AWOL.

If you know what I'm talking about and have this issue, I would gladly send you a SASE and money for copying.

Thanks a whole bunch.

It's not in the actual Family Circle magazine, but in their 'sister publication'.

And I have looked through their website, but they don't show which issues they have for back issue purchase.

Thanks so much for your help though. It is very much appreciated.

My SIL is visiting in about 10 days. She knit a sweater from Alpaca wool. I am going to sew it together for her. I have never seen Alpaca wool before.

I have never seen Alpaca before either ( other than on line) we do not have any stores around here any more that sell the specialty stuff. I have your standard Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels.

Knitting is how I de-tox after a stressful day at work.

The area where I live, we actually have a couple of Alpaca farms. I can get Alpaca raw or spun into yarn. There is also quite a few speciality yarn shops. I frequent two to three different ones. I share my $$ between quilt stores, Joanne Fabrics and the yarn shops. I guess there are advantages to living in a rural area for shopping. Most people don't like living here as they don't have their local box stores or malls within a few miles. The nearest mall to me is a couple of hours drive one way. The closest Super Wal-Mart is 30 miles one-way. I moved here from the suburbs going on 15 years now. I can honestly say, I don't miss the shopping.

Yes, the same SIL. I found the alpaca to be very soft. She knit a sweater of cat faces. The alpaca being the faces, it is really cute. I stitched on whiskers, eyes, noses and a mouse for her to finish it off.
