Did anyone see the two hour Memorial on Peter Jennings Wednesday night? He really played a important role in the News Industry in this country, and yet he's a born Canadian!!!! Thank You Canada for a very wonderful person, I know I will miss seeing him on the TV. They had Interviews with many, many people that worked with him for over 40 years and family and friends. I justed loved listening to his Sister talk, her accent is beautiful to listen to!!!
He was the only one that we watched during 9/11, It felt like family when Peter was "Manning the News Information to us". I also enjoyed his broadcast of "New Years Eve Around the World in 2000". He was not affraid to get his feet wet with stories and really dig into a story,
He will be missed by many, but yet I know that there are those who didn't care for him or his style of reporting.

I was a Dan Rather fan...but I liked to hear Peter Jennings talk. (that Canadian accent...I love when the Canadian AF comes here to play games. I get to hear them talk...and that lovey white skin and big red cheeks they all have..)

I felt so sorry to hear he died so soon. I was hoping his treatment would give him some time. I watched the Memorial on t.v. LOVED it. They did a nice job for a nice man....

Now lets hope Dana Reeve (wife of Christopher) who also has lung cancer, has a better outcome.

I didn't realize Peter Jennings had an accent!

One thing that surprised me is that there has been no "survived by..." tho I did hear on the radio tonight that his children would be accepting a Canadian Award that was announced before he announced his illness.

I was really surprised at how quickly he died, wasn't it something like 4 months since he announced it and quit TV? Sure makes you think doesn't it, it is so important to live each day to its fullest and doing the things that count.
