Are there any special tools I need for sewing together a quilt on my machine? Right now I use a regular (I'm not sure what it's called, I guess walking foot). But, I am using satin as the backing for the quilt and turning over the backing to create the border. I have had a real problem with slipping and sliding of the fabric, yielding a moderately distorted shape. What can I do? -Danielle |

Another trick of the trade is to iron some white (coffee filters) flat and place under your fabric. This will keep it from slipping. When done just tear it away. Take your time sewing with this fabric as it is not what we call a user friendly fabric. When you prepare your binding don't use pins but those snap clips the girls use in their hair. Leaves no markings. Hope this helps a little. |
