Just got my copy of Ottobre kids fashion for fall. As usual, I am very pleased to report lots of new ideas for their kids patterns. They went the extra mile with their cloth diapers and covers showing options for fabrics. They have included a doubler or booster for extra absorbency.

Loads of boys jackets and pants, a very cute idea for a girl's halter type neck closure on overalls and the cutest beanie that just begs to be made for baby. Overall, they have over 40 new patterns. Everything from mittens for toddlers to a man's hooded sweat jacket and pants.

Mary
I've had my magazine for over a week...long enough to buy the material for those adorable dresses with pinafores for my 2 Grands! (Wanted to make the fur-like vest but in Florida I think it's too much) I am so excited. Finally I can create something for them that their mother cannot! 8 years ago I taught my DL to sew. She's beaten me to the punch ever since! Halloween costumes and all.

I'm also excited about making my DH the sweatsuit to fit! He is a Masters Swimmer and in the winter at the outdoor pool needs something quick and easy that fits when he's wet. He's a big man so finding sweats that fit is nearly impossible. He's not big on cardigan tops but I'm thinking that once he sees how easy it is to get on when he's wet he'll be asking for more.

Oh, and the other son and wife are expecting in March so I'll be making those adorable diaper covers too!!!

I just got new lenses in my glasses today and I'm so ready to sew!!! Didn't realize how bad my eyes had gotten. :re:

I am interested in this magazine and I checked the website for subscription rates. Unfortunately the prices are listed in euros and I have no idea how much that is in American Dollars. Does anyone know what it would be for me or can you refer me to a place that I can figure the exchange rate? Thanks.

so lemme get this straight. For about $49-50, you get 4 seasonal issues in the year, and they're filled with multi-sized patterns for babies, todd's, and kids? About how many patterns per age group, would you say? I've looked over the website, I think that was last time it came up here on S-W-N, but I've never seen it in person.

The description says 40 designs with full patterns and instructions, sounds great, but are there patterns for 8-9 year olds, I see a baby on the cover?

The Ottobre website shows past issues of the magazine and lets you get an idea of what is available. The size range is from baby to adult. I think it's a great bargain because the designs are so unique that anything you'll make will be top notch and distinctive. Money well spent.
Someone had asked about the cost. I remember wondering too but I think when you try to order a subscription the site gives you the price change. You can always decline if you haven't entered a credit card.

There are lots of patterns for every age group. (Probably 6-8 different patterns for each group) Just a guess. It differs with each issue. From newborn on up. Please know that you will trace off the patterns you want. They are all multi-sized.

I checked out the magazine and fell in love! When I went to Europe in 1992, I bought a few sewing magazines that had loads of patterns in them. They seemed to be everywhere there. I used them a lot even considering they were in Italian and French. I guess they are not popular enough for the stores here to carry them. I called around and found only a couple of 2004 issues available at Chapters. Therefore, I have ordered myself a subscription (nice treat) and can't wait for the first one to arrive. With four and one year old girls, I'm sure I will find lots of use for the patterns. It worked out to $56 Canadian for the year incase there are any Canadians interested.
ciao, Jen

Ok, I think I'm ready to order! They have some really cute items and it's so hard to find cute stuff for boys! I'm assuming this magazine is written in English? I know it's a foreign magazine-just want to make sure so I know I'll understand what they are telling me to do. Thanks.

It's printed in multiple languages  just specify english, the patterns are really well made and go together very well, the biggest pain is tracing but they are multicoloured on the sheets and even this goes quickly (I use doctor table paper and coloured pencils) the web site has all the old issues and you can order them if you see something you fall in love with!!

I love that Mag! I picked up a copy once, and adored every single outfit in it! Very euro, very simple.

Does the present issue have any children's bags or accessories in it?

Thanks,
Rebecca
