Today after a huge "blow-up" with my teenage daughter I went shopping!!
Handcocks was have a huge fabric sale today so I went to see what I could find.
I grabbed a basket and every fabric that had frogs on it went in my cart. Sad thing is that I don't have a darn thing in mind of making! I just was doing a little "depression" shopping!
The lady that cut my fabric noticed the theme....FROGS!

Does anyone else do things like this?? :monkey:

Anyone want a teenage daughter?? :bolt: (just kidding)

mgf~

No thanks on the daughter...you should have taken a friend to talk you into something other than frogs...unless of course you REALLY like frogs... :bg:

As my husband always says, "I never had a gray hair on my head until I had two teenage daughters."
I often buy fabric I don't know what I will do with -- but it never has frogs on it.

I had three teenagers in the house for years. They were all two yrs. apart and the older two were my daughters. I can relate, so can their brother. :bg:

Just remember, teenagers grow up and give you adorable grandchildren that you can spoil rotten and send home dirty and full of chocolate! And I'm pretty sure that there will come a day when they realize that these little terrors of theirs are just like they were as a child and you get a lovely message, - Mom, I'm sooo sorry!!!

I have a huge stash of Frog fabric.. I cannot r3sist it when I go into a fabric shop.. About a year or 18 months ago I even started cutting blocks of frog fabric.. I think I cut 8 inch blocks.. I will have to re-check the size.. I was just going to make a quilt top out of just plain squares.. My 2 youngest grands urge me to start a quilt for myself of frogs..I'm sure before I got started good they would both ask for it .. LOL..I have quite a selection now.. :bg: :bg:

A frog jar quilt would be adorable :whacky: (okay, I just wanted to put in a fun smily face, but it seemed amusing to me). I'm planning on making a bug one, or rather a jar quilt with lots of stuff in it.

I have a collection of frogs and turtles. These are not for me but my DD's. One is into frogs and one into turtles. I have also collected 2 quilt patterns, one is frogs and one is turtles. Now just to get up the nerve to try doing them. I figured I would back the quilt patterns with the other material I have collected. I myself when I collect material when I am in a mood, it is always bright and bold. Makes me feel better I guess.
Having 3 DD I know how trying they can be. But yes they will grow up and become a mother one day and yes you will be able to sit back and gloat when the DGC is having one of those days. Of course you will also find out what joy the GC will bring to you. Hang in there one day it will be a better day.

I have an 18 year old I'll trade for a couple of years. The only thing she wanted for her 18th bday was to have her lip pierced. At least she asked, being 18 she didn't have to in NY state!!

Patti -
She wanted you to pay for it as a gift, right?
I'm so glad mine finally grew up (sort of).

Yes, she wanted us to pay for it. I guess it would have been the gift that keeps on giving!

Just wanted to let you know we survived 4 teenagers in the house at once. I might add all their friends that seemed to want to be here more than their own home. My DH didn't answer the phone for years. He said said no one could get through to him so why try to out run 4 teenager for the phone. We have 12 grands rangeing in age from 6 yrs to 20 yrs old. Oh have we ever laughed watching them grow up & the parents frustrations. Our kids keep asking how we survived. We did & you will too. I bet you make beautiful quilts with all the frogs. I might add we do have so many wonderful memories & making more with the grands.
