I need to buy a new sewing machine. I had a Viking for 30 years. I am going strong towards Brothers NX-400. I can't afford other Viking. I really want good button holes & I kinda like the idea of the letters for clothes. I am going to be a new grandmother in Oct. So I have been sewing maternity clothes & baby blankets. I can't spend over $1000. I want to go thru dealer, so I can have lesson on the new machine & if their is any problems. thanks for any info Valerie

I really like my Singer 9940, decorative stitches, lettering and very easy to use. $799 at most dealers.

Hi, I haven't consider a singer. I had a singer when I was kid. When they went computerise back in the 70' they had gone bad. Are they now consider good machines again? Valerie

Hi, I just check out more machines. I think I am going with Elna. I am still going to look at Viking this afternoon. But where the Elna is they will credit me for the last Brothers I bought there, because I am not happy with it at all. I will let you know what I decided on. Valerie
