But that's how you start, small! That's how I did it. It took patience and a lot of practice, but if you really like it, stick with it and you'll be surprised at the results over time. I've made quite a few quilts and have sold a couple. After I gained a little more confidence, I made the quilts for my brother and sister-in-law's cabin up north and everyone commented. So we're here to help and give you a little push... |

Practice on small ones.. I bet , even if you do not have any GrDaughters, you probably have little girls in the neighborhood who would love a quilt for their dolly (dollies) and would not know or care if it was not perfect.. Ask me how I know this ?? LOL First turbie-towel I made for my GRD --first thing she told her Mom was, "i am going to ask Grandmother to make one for my Barbie." Thank goodness her Mom talked her out of that.. Barbie stuff is too small and tedious for me.. Takes all the fun out of sewing.. Sew With Love

I have quilted for yrs and the biggest I do are lap quilts. These are my favourite ones. Great for gifts and easy to get finished. I don't think I need to go any bigger, but I have tried more complicated patterns over the yrs. I always try to smell the roses, and the daffodils and the peonies and what ever is blooming. Life is definately too short. |
