Ok Ladies, I have an idea please help me expand on it. Susie has lost everything. Can we send household stuff (ie. towels, soap, utensils, fat quarters, thread, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.) to one persons house and when someone gets an address for Susie we could send it then? Maybe include some money to help with shipping from the "drop location" to Susie and any extra could be sent to Susie to replace larger items she needs? I am moving to a new house and have plenty of room to keep the stuff till we can get an address. Let me know what you think or how we can improve this idea or what. |

This is an idea I have had also. For me, shipping over the border might be too costly but I can help in other ways.

To tell you the truth I think just shipping from here might be cost prohibitive on larger items but things like towels, sheets, other small household items I could sure chip in. Let me know. Dorothy |

For those who can't afford shipping, sending $$ or small items would be wonderful I don't know how far my Canadian $$$ will go but that is what I intend to donate. Every little bit helps. MaryW

I was thinking small things. I have plenty of room at my the house we're moving to if anyone wants to send stuff here and then I'll put it in a plastic "tote" and send everything on to Susie at one time. I know we need to wait to hear from her especailly on the big stuff, but I was thinking all the little stuff that has to be replaced like can openers, bag clips, even magnets, stationary, pens, pins, paperclips even. |

From what I'm hearing and understanding from having survived several hurricanes while living in South Florida, it's probably going to be quite a while before UPS, Post Offices, etc. are back to normal so that we will be able to ship things (especially a lot of things or a giant package) into to any of those areas. I'm more than willing to pitch in and supply whatever I can but patience in this case is a really good thing. Patsy Patsy

I agree patience is what's needed right now but there is another post here where Mo suggested we start a "susie" bag at home putting stuff in it we think she'll need and then can ship it when we find out where she is and pkgs are getting through. Anything anyone duplicates can go to her children to help them out or others she knows that need help. I'm going to start a box here and pick stuff up as I'm shopping, etc and then will be ready when the time comes. Also plan on picking up extra fabric when I'm shopping to help replenish her stash and some sewing needs, etc. Lyn
