for a sling? My grandson broke his arm a week ago and had his regular cast put on yesterday. I'd love to make him some cool slings to wear to school since he can go back next week. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, not quite what I'm looking for. I dont' need a baby sling, I need an arm sling for my grandson's broken arm. Guess I'll try to draft a pattern from the one he is currently using and see what I can come up with. I couldn't find anything with a google search either.

esrun, you do not need a pattern.. Take a square of fabric, fold in half , diagonally. put around his neck and alter til it is right fit. tie a simple knot. Now, adjust the length on his forearm to the right size, and pin it around the back of the upper arm not far above the elbow.. Now slip it off his head, and using the part you fitted to him, make a new sized sling. (sewing a little bit from the elbow toward the shoulder)... Or you can just pin that part together with safety pins, if you want to recycle the fabric.. I would serge all the raw edges so the cloth can be recycled.. :bg: :bg:

Thanks Libby. Justin actually came over last night-I wasn't sure he would be here this weekend-and I just traced the one he has plus added some length and height to it. The old one is on the small side I think. He's wearing the one I made him now and we are headed to the fabric store for him to pick out "cool" fabric for his slings this morning. It's amazing how hard some things are to find patterns for!
