Hi everyone. I have scoured the internet as well as Janomes site, but I still would like to hear from real people :)

I have the mc9000, which I love. Hate the small sewing field for embroidery. So, I'm thinking of getting a second machine. It's between the mc300e and the mc9500. I'm looking at the embroidery ones because I'm hooked. LOL

Anyway, I'm considering the mc9500 because I can still carry on while my mc9000 is in the shop getting serviced or whatever. Is there a difference between the 300e and the 9500 as far as the embroidery goes?

I would love to hear your opinions, I'm going to haggle my best with the dealer. LOL

Hello, from my understanding there is not a lot of difference between the 9500 and 9700. If you do a lot of embroidery and want to "free" up your sewing machine, the 300 is embroidery only. For what I saw in pricing, maybe a "stand alone" embroidery machine would be a good option to look into....I am too new at this and never dreamed that I would have even considered a stand alone embroidery machine. Have not really put mine to use yet....still mostly sewing straight stitches (quilting), so I am not "there" yet. Do you have the Digitizer? Maybe an option. Others?

I own the 10000 (upgraded to 10001), 300E, 11000, 6500 pro and the Compulock.

With the 300 embroidery only. Screen is monocromatic (no colors, just color names) 2X2, 4X4, 5X7, and Giga may be used (if you have the 300 update to use the giga 9X10.) It uses all the cards and flashcards your other Janomes use. (but you CAN'T use sew format cards in the 300, they MUST BE jef., also your flash cards will only use folder #5...which is 100 designs, more or less...NO USB on the 300)

You might get a good deal on a 10000 as some are trading UP to 11000's.
(2X2, 4X4, 5X7, 9X10 (giga)..flashcards, regular cards, computer/usb download (if it's been upgraded to 10001, you have extra folders to use 1200 designs may be stored on a flashcard. 125 mb.) Plus all the extra designs the upgrade put on. You can also use color charts for Maderia, RA, etc on the machine.

11000 (pricey, but heck....if you want it, get it) flashcards, USB, Memory Sticks, own CD, download off computer, regular cards. (2X2, 4X4, 8X8, 8X11)
Hoops go up and down AND sideways on the 11000, robotics. Screen goes up and down, 3-D images, screen savers. thread auto cut....etc....

I have never owned any other computerized machines except these..they're easy, HEAVY duty ( I sew leather on my 10000 and 6500 (quilter))
I'm computer illiterate, but have no problem with my machines. (thank heavens) Some hoops come with the machines, others you have to buy.
Posibilities are endless...10000 is upgradeable ( if it hasn't been already) as is the 11000.

Oh how I wish I could get the 10000 or 11000.

So, basically the 9500 is the same machine as the 300e, with the exception of the 9500 having the ability to sew. I think I'm going to try for the 9500. I don't think my dealer has a 9700..I'll have to ask. The 9500 and the 300e are close in price, from what I remember.

I'm going to try and talk him down in his price and have him throw in the giga hoop kit for free. :) I can try right?

Well, my dealer called yesterday with a pretty good price on a 300e. Then I told him I think I want the 9500 instead..and asked him if he hated me. LOL He's going to call later this week with his rock bottom price. I also asked him if he knew anything about the 9700, and hasn't seen it yet.

So, the saga continues LOL
