download the free program Wild Things at www.wildginger.com I has alterable patterns of hats, bags, and other accessories. You put in your measurements (head circumference for a hat etc) and it adjusts the pattern, then you print and cut out the pieces. I haven't actually sewn anything from it yet, but I plan to. And they do have a beret pattern. Good luck!! Charity |

Dvalin, What fabric are you using for the body of the beret? If you are using a knit, then you can use that for the band also. (instead of ribbing) A serger book that I have gave this formula to create a band. (self fabric) Said if fabric has lots of stretch, use 2/3 of length you are applying band to; if it is moderate to low stretch, use 3/4 of length you are applying to.. In other words, if your head circumference is 24 inches, cut band 16 inches if very stretchy, or 18 inches if moderate or low stretch..I have used this formula for lots of things I have made in the 15 years I have been sewing with Knit Fabrics, and it always works..
