I want to make a candy wrapper purse, but I am unsure of all the details. Does anyone have instructions on how these are made? Which vinyl is used? How do you keep the wrapper between the 2 pieces of vinyl without slipping? In what order do you sew the pieces together? How do you ad inside pouches/pockets? Thank you, Melinda |

Melinda, if you wander down to the crafts page there is a good thread on the jammers purses and I think a few links to purses including the candy purse. I finally saw one of these purses up close, they are really cute!

I sew jammers purses on the side for a little extra money I have asked around about candy purses and have found out that you can use clear vinyl like what you would use for a table cloth. I haven't figured out how to hold them in place yet. I have found that if you sew the handles on first, then the front and back to the bottom it is easiest. Make sure you start and finish 1/4 - 1/2 inch from the edge, you need this space to fit it all together. Next comes the sides to the bottom, again, leaving 1/4 - 1/2. Then you can sew the sides together, from top to bottom, or wichever way you choose. The best way to put inside pockets in this kind of purse is to line them with some kind of fabric first. Marci
