Hi! I just bought a second hand Kenmore Ergo3 19010, so far so good! I want to buy a good adapter/converter/customizer, what do you suggest? I've been looking at the amazing box II but I'm wondering if I'd still have to puchase additional software in order to customize the designs. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!! |

SullyandPi....Welcome. This is a great place to be. All the folks here are friendly and have a lot of good information and are willing to share. As for the embroidery, I have a Deco and have just purchased the Ultimate Box which does the same thing as the Amazing Box but was less expensive and has a larger capacity. They allow you to transfer designs from your computer to a card for the embroidery machine but you can't make any changes to the designs. I plan to get Embird which is a program where you can edit designs. It is a downloadable program which has several add-ons to suit your needs. There are others and someone may be along to tell you about the ones they use. Have fun. Luv2sew Luv2sew

The kenmore Customizer is somewhat limited, but is probably all that you need until you get into digitizing. Most of the Kenmore embroidery machine owners that I am aware of use Embrid. The 19010 uses a compact flash card (128 or less, the smaller the better) and a laptop adaptor instead of an embroidery card. You can purchase them and the card reader at any store that sells electronics for very cheaply. You will get any info you need from the helpful ladies and the archives of the yahoo 19010 group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kenmore-elite-ergo3-19010 They know the 19010 inside and out and are more than willing to help out.
