Hi, I'm new to the whole embroidery world. I bought Brother pe-150 and got the large hoop to go with it. I use the Amazing Box II for transferring designs to my card. It will not let me write designs larger than 4 x 4 and none of my books help me! I read in some other places that the designs need to be split? What does this mean and does my software do it? I also have melco sizer software but I don't see anywhere in there to split them either. HELP... I'M LOST! :whacky:

I have the pe-150 too. I use the ultimate box. And Embird. To use the large hoop you have to split the design. That is when I use embird. It splits the design than I put it on the ultimate box card and can use the large hoop.

Thanks Carolyn, I found a free demo download of Embird online. Do you know if I can split with that version. Seems like I have spent so much money on software that won't do what I originally wanted it for!

Any other ideas or software recommendations?

I can't remember if you can split a design with the free Embird, but you can try.

Embird may cost $$, but I feel it's very well worth it. I have the Brother 8500 and Magic box, but plan to get the Ultimate box to hold larger designs. Another great program is Monogram Wizard for different types of lettering and motifs.

Martha- who makes the monagram wizard?

Carolyn- Thanks for the info on Embird. I downloaded the demo and it does split the way I need to. Finally it makes more sense. I'm pretty disapointed that none of the other software I bought will do this.

Thanks for the help

most folks who do machine embroidery will tell you that Embird is some of the best money they've ever spent for this hobby,... even if you eventually end up with other software for digitizing, Embird is pretty hard to beat for the price... for editing, changing colors, resizing, and splitting... basic Embird is definitely the way to go.... you get a lot of software for under $100...

just my 2 cents...
