Ok... I know this is weird to talk about, however maybe some of you have cats. I was reading online a few months ago about how to get a cat to stop puking. So I tried it, and it's been solid for 2+ months and I thought I would share it with you.

Instead of putting the cat food dish on the ground level, try raising it up from off the floor 2+ inches.

I first tried putting an upside down bowl on the floor and then put my cat's pet food dish on top of it. When that worked for me I graduated them to a small dog size, wrought iron dish holder and it seems to be working for my two kitties!! Mine are Siamese, I hear they puke alot. I've only have them 1 year now. And the older one started puking at about 9 months old, but only sometimes. I guess some of it can be hairballs, but it really wasn't. When she did have hairballs, I gave her hairball remedy stuff. I also feed them a premium dry food.

Has anyone else tried anything interesting to cure this problem or had any other strange pet behaviors?

hmmmm.... I'll have to try that. One of our (3) cats throws up at least 3 times a week. I always thought it was because she's such a pig. She lays across the food and works her way backwards to make sure the others don't steal from her dish. :whacky: Then she finishes up what they leave.
I'll have to raise her bowl and see if it helps.

I have Siamese, and 9 times out of 10 it is the food that they are eating. They have sensitive stomaches and can not eat the cheaper brands of food. IE; 9 lives, dads, meow mix, etc. mine do okay with Iams, or your could try some of the "Better brands" from the Pets stores. They do cost more $$$ wise, but in the long run they (the cats) do better. It doesn't aggravate their stomachs causing them to "barf" and they digest it better, meaning the litter box will not smell as bad, if at all. You will also see a improvement in their coats and personality's.

My sisters dog is allergic to some things, corn, flowers, etc. So she gives him special food (rice and lamb) and benadryl. Now he doesn't sneeze OR throw up.
Sometimes my ferrets have upset stomachs. (hairballs sometimes) but it's usually something weird they've eaten (bugs, fuzz balls off the carpet, etc)
I give them cat hairball stuff and one or two grains of my Prilosec capsules. (all appoved by the vet.)

Usually LARGE dogs have a problem with stomach torsions (their stomach will actually turn itself and cause the dog to die if not taken to the vet for surgery.) So putting their food bowls UP on stands helps.
My sisters dog is a Jack Russell...his food is up on a stand. He doesn't actually eat like any dog I've ever seen ( and I spent the first 30 yrs of my life with dogs). She leaves dry food in his bowl and he picnic's. Works for them I guess...he's healthy and happy.

My Jack picks too. But she has to have a couple bites of really pricey stuff in the morning or she runs from the kitchen to the sewing room back and forth until she gets it.

The problem for my babies is mostly hairballs. Beauty eats lying down next to the bowl (makes the guests laugh). I fed them Iams hairball control; it worked great but their coat became very greasy. I stopped and used the tube thing but 2 of them wouldn't touch it. I switched back to hairball control but mixed it 1/2 weight control and it world wonderfully.
