Hello,
I am new to the forum, although I have lurked for a few years, and been able to find answers to questions I had.

I am looking for a good home for a fun project, and would like to see this go to someone who would enjoy it, and not just send it to goodwill.

About 7 (!) years ago, I bought a pattern to make dragons, as well as most of the fabric. It has been neatly put away all this time, and I recognize that I will never make these. If anyone here would like this, I would be happy to mail it to you, no charge.

The pattern is Melinda (Smallworks) pattern, here is her website
Smallworks Dragon (http://www.smallwork.com/dragon.html)

Here is a pic of everything you will get
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/dogma02/dragon-fabric.jpg
It includes the pattern, enough cotton fabric for two dragons, the wonderful colourful wool for the dragons mane, and the iron on backing for the cotton fabrics.

The pattern
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/dogma02/dragon-pattern.jpg

Dragon #1 Blue and green watercolour for the back of the dragon, muted blues for his tummy
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/dogma02/drag2.jpg

Dragon #2 Hot colours 'waves' for the back, green scaley lines for the tummy
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v451/dogma02/drag1.jpg

This is a picture of the wool for the mane, plus 3 fabrics to be used for underneath the wings, or nails, or whatever is needed on the dragons.

You will also get the iron on stabilizer. Anyone interested? The only thing I ask is that you make the dragons, and not sell this to someone else.

Cheers,
Lynn.

I would love to do a dragon! But I would want to give you something in return. What do you like or what are you looking for?

Hmmm, the only things I am sewing these days are for my dogs. I make them coats, or toys....so anything that would be suitable.....anything with poodles......right now I am hunting for soft webbing to make tug toys. The webbing would go around my wrist and I sew rabbit fur or faux fur to the end for the dog to tug on. The nylon webbing I have found makes the skin on my wrist raw.

(I re-read my message and laughed. The 'only' thing I am sewing is for my dogs, yeah, that doesn't include the Hallowe'en costumes I am fixing, the curtains I am adjusting, the pile of kids stuffed animals I am stitching up.....lol)

GreenDragonLady I just looked at your photos, I love the rennaissance fair pics! Wonderful costumes you made. My hubs and I had a Medieval wedding, so I have beautiful costumes, plus extras that I made myself. Someday I want to get to a rennaissance fair too.

Thanks! We go to King Richard's Faire in Massachusetts every year. We went early this year (we usually go right about now, but we went three weeks ago so it was a little warmer).

So I take it you have poodles? We have a yellow labrador. She's 2, but she's still a puppy. Here she is:

So what kind of webbing were you looking for? Like the width of a leash but softer?

Oh, did you check out my wedding photos too? Cuz we had a renaissance wedding too!

OOOOHHHHHHHHH Those are really cool! Where'd you find the pattern? I might have to buy it. We named one of our boys Drake. I have the coolest applique dragon which I'm finishing doing a bunch of them for a swap. Here's the pattern I have: Dragon One (http://www.future-heirlooms.com/fantasy/flyingthings.html)
But, I forget what else I was going to say.

I love dragons and so does my husband. I was looking for some kind of dragon quilt to do for our bed, but I'm not a very good quilter and I don't do so well with applique(That dragon applique looks gorgeous) . The stuffed dragons look absolutely adorable, but I would feel that I need to pay for the materials and shipping so I couldn't take it free of charge. I have so many projects going right now anyway, that I would probably end up like you and not ever getting around to doing them. I have this week to sew my daughter's dress for a wedding next Saturday and numerous other things that I need to get done, and plenty more waiting after those. lol. I hope you find a home for the stuff though.

GreenDragonLady - I checked out your wedding photos, beautiful! Did you sew everything?
If you want the dragons, pm me your address and I will send them. We can worry about whatever you want to send me later, truly, I don't want anything, but if you feel you must perhaps you will see something somewhere that you will feel 'is right for me'. I just want to get my house cleaned up and getting the dragon-stuff off to you would make me happy!

Ticia: those are extremely cool quilt designs. I have never had the patience for quilting, but I did do a hanging quilted picture one, just made up the picture of a dragon myself.

Charity: boy oh boy, I know what you mean, too many projects, sewing and otherwise. Hopefully GreenDragonLady will give my dragons-to-be a good home!

Yes, I sewed just about every outfit that you saw. I didn't sew hubby's because he didn't want me to know what he was wearing. All I knew was that it was black.

I saw your site with your poodle and water dog. Boy, are they cute! So is the poodle the dominant one?

I PM'd you. Thanks!

My little grandson loves dragons - and knights. In fact he has a castle wall on one wall of his bedroom. I must find out where you bought the pattern or, is there any chance of making a photocopy of the pattern and just sending me that. I'll find my own material.

The pattern can be found at
Melindas dragon (http://www.smallwork.com/dragon.html)
Its not too expensive at $12usd, and is quite a few pages, with great detail.

GDL: My water dog is the dominant one, the poodle tried to be boss, but it didn't work.

Lynn- you could try looking on ebay for pillow or craft panels to make your blanket. I found some great fantasy pillow panels on there one time, mine had a castle on one and a unicorn on the other and it had a very cool border panel. So, look to see what you can find because you never know. Oh, and there's a very cool fabric I found at Wal-Mart that has a fantasy theme (I'm going to use them for the twins nursery curtains, provided I ever get around to that).
I'll have to go buy that dragon pattern it is so cute, and actually not all that much. Thanks for posting the link.
