I have noticed several new members on the site and with that normally comes several new PM's asking me how I post pictures. So I thought why not post an answer here for all to see. In order to post a picture here it must already be on a website somewhere else. There are many places where you can get free websites to post your pictures on. Just do a search. Once your picture is on the web right click on it, then click on properties. You will then see the address or URL of the picture. Copy that address. Then come here and start a new post or thread. When you start a new post you will see a little yellow button that looks like a postcard of mountains. When you click on this button a window pops up asking you to enter the text to be formatted. This is where you paste the address you copied from your picture. Voila! You should have a picture in your post. I have encountered a few times when this didn't work. I can only guess that maybe the site the picture was on was copy protected. On a side note. Try not to use huge pictures, as they eat up the bandwidth for this site. I have on a few occasions been asked to shrink my pictures or remove them. I'm sorry I have to ask you Gina but I can't figure out why my webshots link doesn't work. I've been try to post on in the Beginning Quilting Board and not having any luck. I hope you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. TIA Donna Donna

Don't worry about asking. I love trying to help. So here is what you need to do. I assume you are trying to get a hyperlink in your signature. Click on User CP. Then Click Edit Signature. Then you need to click on the little globe looking thing under the word color. It will ask you to enter text to be displayed. You can leave this blank or you could put words like "My Website". Click ok. Then it will ask you to enter the URL of your link. Enter your web address and click ok. This should work. If it doesn't I don't know what to do. Gina

Donaburd, when you look at the coding of the link in your signature it should look something like the URL coding I have created below. Note, I typed "opening square bracket" and "closing square bracket" at the beginning and end of the URL otherwise you would only see a link and not the coding that generates the link. (opening square bracket)URL=http://www.flickr.com/photos/heyjudee/sets/348651/] http://www.flickr.com/photos/heyjudee/sets/348651/[/URL(closing square bracket) will show like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/heyjudee/sets/348651/ (opening square bracket)URL=http://www.flickr.com/photos/heyjudee/sets/348651/] My website[/URL(closing square bracket) will show like this My website (http://www.flickr.com/photos/heyjudee/sets/348651/) Another thing to check is that your pictures or site on the webshots has been set to public so that anyone trying to access your photos can see them. Yep I get it now. There may have been something wrong with the site because yesterday all I would get is cannot find the page. It is coming up today. Those computer gremlins were at it again, LOL.
