MyGirlFriday asked me about a fabric tray she saw on my blog. Since we were in the quilting section (Sorry, link unavailable.) I thought it better to tranfer the discussion here. :bluewink:

The tray can be used to take off jewelry/ hair things/whatever when you come home from work...

I didn't use a pattern. It is 3 layers of fabric-batting-towelling, sewn w/ right sides together with a small opening to turn inside out. I sandwiched ribbons between the layers at the corners.
The bottom is quilted and the folds are marked with a satin stitch.

For larger trays (to put bread), I have also sewed the ribbon all the way across the sides with a zigzag stitch, like here:

Hope this helps! :bluewink:

Isabelle-that's how I make mine! Very easy and quick and can be made for a variety of seasons, etc. I usually sew the ribbon all the way across on the outside. The only different thing I do is use fabric on both sides rather than toweling as I usually put baked goods in them as gifts. You ladies should try one or two!
