I started this quilt for my hubby for Valentine's Day 2003. I just put the binding on yesterday.

Thanks Carman! Yes, he does think it's his. He was on the bed about 2 seconds after I put the quilt on it!

It definitely feels good completing something I started so long ago. It's getting me motivated to finish more UFO's!

Very nice work!
I need to get my butt in gear and get back to sewing. I recently finished a baby quilt...the baby was already 6.5 months old by the time I gave it. I've discovered that I like making the blocks and seeing them go together, but I am daunted when it comes to quilting the three layers together...even with a baby-sized quilt. I don't know how I'll fare when I try a larger quilt.
Take care,
Donna

The fabric really compliments the design - always a good sign! doesn't it feel good to get something out of the way? Well done you did a good job.

Thanks, ladies! I'll definitely give him an extra scratch for your GD, Julia's Nana! I'm definitely bogged down by UFO's as well. I have about 8 quilt tops that are done, just not quilted, three tops that are in partial stages of completion, countless numbers in the planning stages, plus I have other sewing projects partially finished. Then there's the embroidery! I did a little bit of knitting for Christmas last year, but not much. I can't do any patterns yet, just straight scarves.

That's my thing too. I love the excitement of planning a fresh new project, and see how the colors are going together, then I get bored. I had made a New Year's Resolution this year to complete one UFO (whether a quilt, article of clothing, etc.) every week until they were gone, and not to create any more. It lasted 3 weeks. :whacky:

Thanks Angela and Laura! I bought most of the fabrics online from Equilter. The fabrics are wonderful quality, but because my monitor shows colors a little differently there was one blue and one brown that didn't go. So I had to search high and low for two to replace them. I found some brown on the bolt at Joann's that went nicely, but the blue that I wanted I could only find in fat quarters! So I had to cut those up and use them. Not fun when you're doing strip piecing!
