I'm looking for some demensions for a nice poncho sewing pattern. I just mde one by the seat of my pants and it came out fine, but needed more tweaking than I like to do. This pattern was made of 2 rectangles (the same size) with one seam off the front right shoulder and the other off the back left shoulder created by sewing the short side of the first rectangle to the long side of the secnd rectangle starting at the bottom edge, then doing the same for the back seam. Then I had to round off the shoulders and cut down the front neck a bit which was the fussing I didn't like. I can't figure out how to insert a picture on this forum :bang: or I'd add the picture.
Thanks!
Teri

I found a free poncho pattern (http://www.timmelfabrics.com/patterns.htm).
As for posting a picture I wrote out detailed directions here (http://sew-whats-new.com/vb/showthread.php?t=17163). If you have any questions after reading through this I would be more than happy to help you.

I wrote an article about making a poncho that is in the archives. Just go to People Behind the Seams. Click on my picture and it takes you to a list of my columns. Click on the one about a poncho. I have a picture of the pattern (it is just one piece) and instructions. MariLynntex

Click on my name instead of my picture! The column is entitled Make a Poncho! I still wear it a lot :coffee2: in winter. MariLynntex

I get many different newsletters from different sewing places online. I just got one today from the Home Sewing Association that had Poncho instructions. They seem fairly simple to follow and look like they turn out nicely.
