I have just purchased a Babylock Esante. Am wondering about buying cards vs anything else. Any suggestions. I guess most Brother cards work in the babylock? But not the Disney cards? Am I right?

Yes, most brother cards will work in the Esante provided the size isn't too large. Disney cards will only work in Brother Disney machines. You could just buy the memory cards with designs already on them, or buy a reader/writer box that can take designs from your computer (either free or purchased from the internet or from CD's) and write them to a card that you can put into your machine. Amazing Box and Ultimate Box are two popular boxes. I think one of them can hold more designs (but I'm not sure which one)

The Ultimate box is the one that holds a lot of designs... when I started out in machine embroidery with the 150, I used the ultimate box with card to transfer designs from my computer to the machine... there were lots of times I had 30-40 designs on the card...

just my 2 cents...

My Father bought my Mother this machine right before she passed away. My sister and I have learned how to do it, in fact she has bought 2, herself. The neat thing about it, is you can go online and find freebie designs as well. I'll pm you the various sites that we have used!
God Bless!

Auntie Pam,

Thanks for the encouragement. I used it over the weekend to do monograms on fleece blankets for kids. I used the card that came with the machine and that worked well. I would appeciate any direction on websites with free designs. What have you used to convert those free designs to cards to plug into the machine?
