Mary --
Did you mean "that is one of them" or "Jan is one of them?"

Jan,
I know biology knitting is more your field but one of my daughter's best friends is an astrophysicist at Cornell University. She is also an avid knitter, so if you happen to stumble across any space type patterns could you pass on the links. She'd love them.

It's a good job I love you both - especially as I just posted your dog a jumper Dorothy - and I still think it will fit a short, fat giraffe.

Hmmm knitted galaxies.....supernova, I did have a lady at school ask if I could knit a solar system....

Looks like you could have the whole human body knitted in a few months. It should keep you busy and out of trouble. :re:

I couldn't resist and started another pair of socks this week. I wore the other pair I made to a college football game last weekend and my toes stayed nice and warm. I've got to have a few more before winter.

I have started spinning again. I'm working on the yarn for the sweater that you knitted. I think this yarn will work for the pattern. It is a brownish-grayish wool. It is very soft for next to skin use.

Did you get the dog sweater done?

enjoy the socks Liz - sounds like the wool will work out fine. as for the dog jumper - see previous post. I forgot to take a picture of it before I sent it - I'm hoping Lucy will model for us!

I am really getting into this - here
http://harbaugh.uoregon.edu/Brain/index.htm
you can find an anotomically correct knitted brain AND 2 quilts showing brainscans!
beat that!

a baby hat shaped like th back end of a chicken....http://alohamedia.net/sarah/hats/chicken-viking/ looks a bit like a viking helmet.

I think the hand knitted grenade is going a tad far though

but this http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/kms-corn.html
is very scarey...

Lucy will be proud to model her jumper, but I may have to email the photo to someone who can post it. Any volunteers out there?
I am very pleased with the bag I am making for you to tote your knitting in too. Just one more seam and a little top stitching.

Well Lucy is prancing around in her beautiful new sweater looking very pleased with herself. Liz will have the photos so you all can see what a great knitter our Jan is.
I for one am quite impressed with the design she knit into it.
Thanks again Jan from me and Lucy.

Lucy is very excited to be on the internet. Thanks Liz. Isn't that sweater beautiful?
I couldn't get there with the first link -- it asked me to log in with a password. But I went to your link at the bottom and from there went to Misc and there was Lucy with a smart and loveable Molly.
Thanks again Jan.

I always call that style fair isle, Liz. It is the same pattern that I have on some Norwegian style socks.
My pleasure Dorothy, I'm just glad it fits! It looks a bit loose at the back end - is that OK for you?

Oh yeah -- the fit is fine. She's not real picky -- she just likes to be warm! She has one that is tighter but she doesn't seem to favor that one. She always scatches her back on the coffee table when the tight one comes off so I think the looser one is more comfortable.

Thanks Laura, it does look like Lucy likes to pose for photos! It only took a week knitting here and there - actually at one point I had to take it all to bits and start again as I had my calculations wrong... :nc: heigh ho.

Jan (aka) Mad Knitting Women,

I finally took a pic of my socks that I knitted for myself. I have to say they are very cozy! I'm going to make more for myself after I'm done with my Xmas projects.

Here is the link..

Now don't you just love socks! The stripey ones are well funky and beautifully made. What type of yarn did you use?

I am making a pair of wellie socks for a 4 year old at the moment - fuzzy pink legs and blue feet - awww.

Jan,

I purchased this yarn at the wool show I attended this past summer. It was kinda of pricey, but I thought I would try it. It is dyed to make the stripes, so you don't have too switch colors. The yarn is a superwash wool and it is called Big Mexiko and is made in Italy. They have a web site.

http://www.schoeller-und-stahl.de

I love knitting the socks. The ones you are working on sound so cute.
