I was sent this on the weekend. Please respond to them if anyone is interested. Thanks.

Dear List Owner,

My name is Kirstin and I am a Casting Producer for ABC Televisions show, Wife Swap. I am reaching out to you in hopes that your group can help me find a family for our show. We are specifically looking for a creative, crafty mom who is an avid quilter. Ideally, mom would not only do this as a past time, but possibly earns a living as a quilter.

In case you are unfamiliar with Wife Swap, the premise is to take two very different families and switch the mom's for a week. Each family should consist of two parents and at least one child over the age of five and should reside in the continental U.S. It's a positive experience for people to learn about other families and other ways of life.

My hope is that you would post this to your yahoo group so that anyone interested in applying, will be able to contact me. This is a very unique experience that can be life changing for everyone. In addition, each family that tapes an episode of Wife Swap receives a $20,000 honorarium. Anyone who refers a family that appears on our program receives $1000 as a 'thank you" from us.

If you have any questions, please call me at the number below. Please let me know if you are willing to post this to your group so I may keep track of where this message is posted. Thank you for your time.

Wouldn't that be fun or absolutely horrendous. Who knows what they would send to your house.

Love the show but not sure I'd want to be on it! Could indeed be terrific or horrendous!! Sometimes I just sit and wonder if some of these people are really like they are portraying themselves to be!

Well, hubby was enthralled at first by the $20,000, but after hearing a description of the show decided to pass, lol. Bummer. Bet he'd appreciate me after a couple of weeks with someone else!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband has never seen the show. When I saw this post I hollered upstairs "Hey, can we do a wife swap?" There was silence for a moment... Then "Well.... sure I guess...If that is what you are into now... I'm game." It took me a minute to realize what he thought I meant. Then trying to explain it better to him I said "It is a TV show." :whacky: That didn't help a whole bunch. I am sure he was thinking "Wow! What has happend to my wife?"
After a bit I finally explained it all to him. His eyes lit up when I told him how much money was involved. Our kids are too young though. If the show is still running when our youngest turns five I would love to be on it.

I can't wait to see who they get to swap with the crafty woman. Probably someone who has never made a single thing in their life.

$20K wouldn't be enough for me to go on that show. I've never seen it, but I've heard enough about it.

Pudge - From reading the original post, I don't think the youngest needs to be over five, just as long as at least one child is over five. I say go for it. I would love to do it, but I am not a quilter and my hubby travels with work, so he is never around.

The way I read it is that you must have at least one child and that they must be over five. A child less than five would have a hard time understanding where mom was and who this stranger is that has taken her place. Plus I wouldn't want a stranger changing my kids diapers and such things.
PLus I don't fit the criteria for this one as I do not quilt either.

Oh my, this is tempting! I would so love to put some "fancy" lady into this household of mine. One 15 1/2 yr old DD at home (home schooled), 2 older DD's out of the house, I recently took in a young man whose parents told him on his 18th birthday that they kept him as long as the law would force them to and he was to get out, that day( got him living in my laundry room as it's the only space I had open!)! 4 cats, 2 dogs, pet rats. I work full time, and try to keep my home sewing business going in my spare time. My DH has been off of work for 3 months now and should be leaving to give long haul trucking a try this week sometime. Not complaining ladies.. just thinking it might be a shock for some other wife to step into this arrangement!

At the end I am not showing up at my grave all pretty and well preserved...I am coming in sliding, yelling "What a ride!"
