Wow, I didn't realize that Fabricland had such useful info on their website. I've never looked at their site as they are just down the street, so I can scoot over whenever I need to. I'll have to do some serious looking at it. Thanks!

Your timing is great. I'm just getting ready to cut out a jacket/capey thing and can use whatever tips anyone has. I have sewn successfully with fleece but not a lot. Dorothy |

DorothyL I never even sewed with fleece, then last year at Joanns I bought a lot of fleece to make shawls for the nursing home ladies. Well I decided to make a jacket - just playing around, and now I'm hooked. I find it so easy to work with, but my next project will be with the better quality fleece. |

I got tired of looking through all the sites trying to find info. on what I wanted in a hurry so I hope the info. from these sites is useful and saves you all some time. I like to use Malden Mills polarfleece since it doesn't pill like the cheaper fleeces and is, what I consider, to be the best. I also like microfleece and find that it doesn't pill as much as the cheaper stuff. I'll put some more links up when I'm done searching. Fleece Hat, Scarf, Poncho, Slippers, Etc. Hi Catalina I too am making shawls for nursing home ladies and was wanting to dress it up with some trim - using some scrap cotton from quilts. Do you think this would work well with fleece if the cottons are preshrunk? |

Hi I'm not sure if you would get my previous reply, but here it is again. I too am making shawls for the my mom's nursing home. To trim it up a bit, I thought I would use preshrunk cotton. Have you done this and did the fleece twist or move. Marge from Canada |

Tell me more about the shawls for nursing homes - this sounds like something I could get some kids interested in doing as a project. |

BabsSewingRoom I got the pattern from Sewing with Nancy website. Very easy and quick, it is straight sewing and would be good for kids. I am looking for the measurements for a scarf and hat for my grandchildren which are 7 and 5. If you can help me with that, I would really appreciate it. Marge from Canada |

Hi Sewerzzzzz Thank you so much for the fleece websites. What a wonderful source of information you gave me. I live in Canada, just north of Grand Forks, where winter is now approaching and thought my 7 and 5 year old grandchildren could use a couple of scarves and hats. Thanks for the info. Marge |
