2 days ago in a nearby town there was a murder/suicide. Some idiot took a 12 gauge shotgun to his (nearly ex) wife's house. (there were 2 restraining orders against him). He shot his 11 yr old daughter in the face, (she's dead), shot his wife, (musta had bad aim THEN) she's gonna make it. Then turned the gun on himself...That he just couldn't shoot HIMSELF and leave others alone, makes me angry (always does when I hear this kinda story), but..
In the obit section of the newspaper this morning. There was an obit for him, what a kind man he was, what things he belonged to, how many brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts and cousins he had left behind. Where the funeral is and what good care the funeral home is giving him (yes that was printed in there too...)
NOTHING about that poor little girl....nothing about how he's a murderer, a batterer, an all around jacka**.

Am I the only one who see's something wrong in this ???

OK here is the flip side :bolt: HE is the &^%$#@, not the family. i am only going by what you wrote and you need to remember, that if you had a jerk like that in your family, you still need to be able to be mad, scared, and mourn. the girls family is the one whom has to write the obit, maybe they have not finished it up yet.

now the other side, i feel like you do :re: what gets my goat is when the family says the offender was such a nice person, well if he was, what happened, that statement makes me the most mad, i have to keep telling myself that the family is in denial and wants to think positively in a time when they are having to defend themselves as well, for something THEY did not do.

breaks my heart when i hear things like that

Likewise ... makes me mad when I hear stories like that... not surprised about how the obit is ran ... "saving face" I would assume.

Poor girl's family to mourn HER loss.
