It probably would be a good idea to see if you can find the model number of your sewing machine and call around to a few sewing machine stores to see if they sell replacement parts for it. I'm sure some machines have parts that are interchangable, so I'll bet that someone has a thread holder for your machine that will work even if it isn't made by the same manufacturer as your machine. Hope you find one!

That is a spindle or a spool spindle. I doubt that you'll need a whole lot of info. Your dealer should know what it is and I would expect them to be pretty well interchangable. Many companies include an extra spindle in the accessories for a second spool of thread in case you need one for twin needle sewing. There also may be one that faces a different direction in your accessories. It may fit under a lip instead of in the hole and it might not be the best spindle for you to use with your thread but it may get you by until you can get to the dealer to pick one up.

My sewing machine has two places for spools of thread, one is the usual place and another one I put a second spool of same color thread so I do not have to switch to the usual spool to thread a bobbin. I also use one of those free-stand spool holders for serger thread cones for large projects like quilts. |

Or you can spend a little extra money and get a spool STAND. (usually 5-10 spools). Martha Pullen, Janome and they have some for Brother at allbrands.
