Mamadus
I was looking at that one and the Brother today. Thinking about trying to get one to do commercial embroidery.

May I ask how you plan to use yours?

Thank you - Angie

Angie.. for now I'm using it primarily for personal use... but after Christmas I plan to start working on stuff for craft shows....also hoping I can manage to hook up with some small businesses to do shirts, caps, etc...

If I should be able to get one, I am planning it for sports teams, rock/country groups, etc.

One thing you may want to consider, and I'm considering also, go to the places that provide the accessories to business, for shows and such....
I use to be a buyer for a s/w company and there were times when the companies that provided the shirts with logo didn't have time to get them done. And I know they use local people to stitch those logos.

Also, my son-in-law tried to get some shirts stitched his logo on, and there was a 4 to 6 week wait.

Good luck and enjoy.... I'll be reading of your adventures with that new toy/tool.

You can also hook up with the schools. Many sell embroidered or silk screened things for fund raisers through the cheerleaders, band, choir, drama, gifted programs, senior class. Also, many of the clubs like the ones listed above have t-shirts and sweatshirts/hoodies made for their students/parents/boosters in their organizations. A lot of grocery stores and other businesses have personalized embroidered shirts with logos for their employees. My car dealer has shirts and a lot of garages do. Just keep your eyes open. You may want to try to initiate that type of business with compaines who would be good candidates for that in your area.

When I started sewing, I sent letters of introduction, tear off sheets (for posting on the bulletin boards) and business cards to the sponsors of pom, choir, drama and band of all the schools within a 15 miles radius. I didn't get immediate business, but over time, I became a regular source for a few of the schools.
