i am going to make a few simple dolls along the lines of these (http://www.nerfect.com/toy-box/toybox1.html) (more specifically, this one (http://www.nerfect.com/toy-box/toybox13.html) and this one (http://www.nerfect.com/toy-box/toybox13.html).). i just bought the poly filler. anyone have any doll sewing / doll pattern making tips? i know these are simple patterns, but i've never done anything like it before. any help is appreciated! - kelly (x-posted to Gen Sewing) http://www.nerfect.com/toy-box/displays/whuh.jpg see the mundane life of a housewife.

Hi Kelly, New to the forum and just saw this. Not sure exactly what you need to know. The type of dolls I make are soft sculptured dolls. i.e they have sculpted faces, fingers, toes, breasts, etc. I do know that working with felt can be a tad frustrating if you are stuffing it tightly, as it has a tendency to stretch a bit and then tear. Let me know what you need help with, and perhaps I can give you some pointers. Have a great day JK |
