I am trying to find the instructions for making a denim purse, they are made from jeans where you cut of the legs and then decorate. Does anyone out there please have any instructions. Sure would appreciate any help. Thank you everyone. Tania :coffee2:

Hi and welcome to Sew-What's-New forums! :bg:

I'm almost finished one, but I've been making it up as I go along.
I did a google search, and there are lots of ideas out there. Check it out.

I am putting a lining with pockets in mine...it may even be reversible...I don't know for sure yet! :whacky: I just have to figure out the closure... :bolt:
Hope this helps!
Take care,
Donna

The only one I've seen is where you use the pocket as the purse, so it's quite small, is that what you are thinking of?? A good place to check out is www.craftster.org for their tutorials, those girls come up with some great stuff.

I am SOOO old! I remember making these purses out of my worn out jeans when I was a kid and the hottest jeans were bell bottoms ala John Travolta style. Yikes! I should have kept those old purses so I could sell them on ebay!

This is a link to a picture of my finished purse. There are other photos as well, of the back and lining. Making the lining was the hardest part. Without that, it would have been very easy. The next time, I will try to make one with a more 'boxy' look.

I like the pink bow. It would look good with an old leather belt too.

Very attractive bag! It would look good with an old leather belt, too. I made 8 denim totes one Christmas, 3 for my daughters, 3 for DILs, and 2 for granddaughters. About February or March, I managed to get one done for me, too, and I still use it sometimes, although I made a newer and smaller one a couple of years ago. MariLynntex
