If she does hand applique: maybe some silk thread in taupe or biege (I like YLI thread), if she has long nails, an open sided thimble, Clover 3/4" glass head applique pins, bottle of fray check, a Hera marker, box of freezer paper, fusible web or steam-a-seam For patchwork: Clover Chaco Liner, QTools Cutting Edge vinyl strips (to stick to the bottom of the cutting rulers), InvisiGrip non-slip material to attach to cutting rulers (if she doesn't have the new rulers that don't slip), fat quarters of fabric, package of binding hem clips, package of quilting safety pins, Quick Quarter (great for making half square triangles), if she doesn't have any maybe some small square up rulers e.g. 6.5", 4" or 3", replacement blades for rotary cutter, can of temporary adhesive spray, 50 wt. beige or light grey thread cotton thread (used for piecing). If she does machine quilting: quilting needles, a pair of Machingers gloves TTFN from

Quilting needles for applique. Small gardening gloves with the rubbering things if she machine quilts. Magnet (Saved my life and the cats quite a few times) for when all the needles land on the floor. Hand lotion; I find my hands get quite dry when working with fabric. |

How about some patterns she might enjoy using? Or some common notions like bias tape or a canister of buttons (they have them at Hobby Lobby for about $2 for a tube). Ticia |
