Visit here www.quilts.org for the International Quilt Association Spring contest winners. Some of these are astounding - my personal favourities are the ones under"Judges Choice" (Mathchstick moons made me gasp) and "Art Whimsey" - Hopscotch in zero gravity. Her use of black ric rac is quite inventive. Have a brouse , they are amazin' love and kisses, Jan

To me, most of these, however brilliant, are very intimidating!. I do have a few favourites tho, the simplest ones: http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/Kashmir.jpg http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/EffervescentJoy.jpg http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/OwlsLight.jpg http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/TheBigApple.jpg http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/Hopscotch%20in%20Zero%20Gravity.pdf http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/ShimmeringFoliage.jpg http://www.quilts.org/IQA/f%2005%20IQA%20winners/SummerRentals.jpg Adva Price

The big apple is quite amazing. The pixillation is reminisant of pop art work. I was showing them to a 13 year old boy and he was amazed.
love and kisses, Jan

I did not view all the winners, but I also like The Big Apple. It has so much dimension. I cannot figure how it was done, but it seems like a lot of small work. Will I ever be able to get close to anything like that? Leila. |
