Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and new to the world of machine embroidery. However, I'm not new to general sewing. I've been sewing for over 35 years, believe it or not, on the SAME old Singer Genie machine!

I think I deserve a new machine! I was in a shop the other day and had a really nice demo of the NEW Babylock Ellure. Not knowing two wits about machine embroidery, I was really impressed. I was also happy with the regular sewing features of the machine, like the auto needle threader, one step buttonhole, and lots of built in stiches. WOW. My Genie has four, if you include reverse! LOL!!!

Anyway, the shop has the previous Ellure model on sale for $999. The New Ellure is discounted to $1299. (It was $1599 and included the Madiera treasure chest thread box. The sale price doesn't include the thread box.) I didn't compare a lot of the features, because I wasn't smart enough yet, but I thought you folks could answer some questions. The new Ellure has more memory and a 1degree pattern rotation. The old Ellure only does 90degrees.

Are these features worth the extra $300? Does anyone have the new Ellure machine? Any comments about it?

Thanks! I'm expecting it to be under my tree next weekend, so I need to make sure the salesman knows what I want when my husband walks in the store this week!!! :)

Thanks,
Maureen

I have had two embroidery machines by babylock and love them so good choice. the memory is awesome because if you are working on something and need to go back to it, you have it saved in the machine. it is worth the money. the rotation is great on the new one too, you need at times to move your design around. if you have more questions go back to the babylock dealer, or what I do is email babylock directly. I go on their website a lot, use their projects, and if I have any questions about my machine, threads or designs, I email them and they answer very quickly. Best of luck with your new Chrismas present!! oh, also ask if for embroidery you should use the finishing touch bobbin thread only. Babylock loves that type of bobbin thread. any questions feel free to email me at <email address removed for privacy>
