I'm fairly laid back - I'll go to the shops tomorrow, or Wednesday and buy a few things ( milk, butter, eggs, cheese, wine, all bran - the staples of life). Saturday I'll go to the butchers and see what they've got and work out what we will eat for Christmas lunch - I'd like a bit of lamb, but if they haven't got any, Ill get something else...it's only food after all.
love and kisses, Jan

Ready - final shopping today - as frig is full put stuff outside where it is - 15 C. Mailed last packages late, therefore postage more than gifts! Tree not up yet. Good book almost finished and another waiting. Will get that stitch in ditch foot and finish placemats and mail later (got blood all over the white anyway!)

Merry Christmas to all!

Ready for what??

I cleaned house today, will do groceries on Friday on payday. Wrapped the last present today. Youngest daughter and her 4 yr old boy arrive early Wednesday morning. Youngest son arrives Thursday. I think I'm ready, I guess by now it doesn't really matter, I just want to see all the kids!

I'm never ready this early but this year I'm sooooo far behind. I still have a robe to make and a skirt to make (the skirt can be a little late since she won't be here anyway). My husband's gift is on back order and likely won't be here on time. He gave me mine -- a light for the sewing room -- early so I could finish other gifts.
This year we don't have a lot of money for gifts so we just bought gifts for my niece and nephew, not their parents. I know the adults will understand but darn them, we got a huge box full of gifts from them in the mail yesterday.
And to top it all off I still have a big story to write so I get a good check after the holidays to pay the bills with.
BUT my daughter I haven't seen since May is coming and that makes up for it all and keeps me from being a complete Scrooge.

even if Christmas came next month I wouldn't be ready! I started a new job in September and have not had a spare minute since starting there. I am amazed at people who regularly put in these 50 to 60 hour weeks and still get other things in life done. All I have managed to do is work and try and get enough rest to face another day. Hopefully we will be fully staffed after Jan 1st and I will have some time to get re-aquainted with my sewing machines.
I haven't wrapped a single one of the few gifts I have managed to get, still have a list to shop for. My daughter is coming home from Denver in 2 days and I haven't shopped for her favorite foods to make while she is home. I did get the tree up last week and every morning its a chuckle to try and find all the branches and ornaments that the 2 kittens have "enjoyed" during the night. I am off work on Christmas Eve day.....that should be enough time to get it all done.....right?

I am ready. Since we have cut down on the gifts, this season gets easier. All I have left to do is the cooking and last minute cleaning. Moms cat is a sheddered, and last minute cleaning is always a must.
Happy Holidays Everyone.

I have everything done by Thanksgiving. I am working on Christmas 2006 now. By Thanksgiving all gifts are done and wrapped, the tree, trains and villages are up, the lights in and out side of the house are all lit Thanksgiving night when my dinner guest leave. They also get a cute, inexpensive gift on their way out to start their Christmas.
