It says it machine washable, but I never thought acetate was washable. does anyone know? Thanks. |

Try a prewash but the companies do tend to err on the side of caution. Dorothy |

If it says washable and is really soft and pliable, it's probably going to wash Ok. If it's stiff, it might retain wrinkles really bad. Take care to edge the fabric first before washing. (zig-zag or serger). That way the thread would not be pulled OUT and you have a big run in the fabrc.

I was always told that true acetate was not washable. However, if the company says it is "?" I don't know. I'm with the others, I'd test wash a piece too. I don't exactly know what to expect. I've never washed acetate so I don't know if it will wrinkle horribly, misshapen, bleed or what. I do know that when true acetate is exposed to sweat (at least of certain people) it can change to odd colors.

I will probably test a little piece. I have read on the net that some of the new acetate is washable now . I just have never washed acetate. Thanks everyone. |
