Usually it is to stop smoking but this year I have been smoke free 6 months Jan4th. So, my resolution this year is to lose 40 pounds. Wish me luck! I'll need it.

I feel for anyone on a diet - food is one of the most enjoyable parts of life! But, good luck to you!

I stopped making resolutions ... I can never keep them if they're scheduled .... usually when I want to change something I do it on the spur of the moment .. no planning!

.ever broken it yet Kath? :bolt:
I don't make New Years resolutions - I find them too artificial. That's my excuse to hug my chubby post Christmas belly and love it to bits!

To be more patient and tolerant. Especially with my MIL when she walks in and does her "Lady Muck" impression (see, there I go again :nah: ).

To lose two stone (doctors orders - apparently it will help my back although I did tell them I didn't want to lose something that was bought and paid for :bluesmile ).

To finish the quilt I started in 1994 when I was pregnant - I do a little each year and my husband says if I keep at it at this rate it should be finished for when she goes to university (now there's a challenge!).

To love and cherish who and what I have and show them how much I appreciate them.

I will not be giving up chocolate or smoking, my sanity can't take it.

We established before Dom that chocolate is a major food group and so to be treated with respect.

No resolutions for me, I just want to finish this new year having learned something new somewhere along the line. I figure you can still teach an old dog new tricks as long as the dog is willing!!

To be the best ME that I can be. I usually try to please everyone but this year I am going to try to please me & see if that makes life easier. Also i am hoping to have a healthier family. We had TOO many funerals & hospital visits last year. It was very stressfull.

My new year's resolution is not to make any resolutions this year. However, I am setting a few goals for myself. One is to be as Barb said "happier" so that life can be just a tad smoother for all.

I actually made my New Years Resolution Dec. 1. I finally joined the gym I had been wanting to join for months. But I couldn't get over the guilt of putting my dd in a gym's child care  . When I realized I was getting short fused with her more often (she's a toddler and supposed to push my buttons but I lost the ability to laugh it off) I said to myself, "Enough is enough". I figured a little bit of guilt offsets the guilt I used to have when my tolerance level was short and my stress level high. I have been there 3-4 times a week (2 weeknights, Saturday and/or Sunday) and my dd is dealing well. I am much more easy going, I get the stress out in the weight room, laugh more often and even lowered my blood pressure. The child care rooms have been set up with monitors so every now and then I watch the tv set to make sure all is well. She knows her reward after I pick her up is we play in the "ball pit" and on the weekends we try to go swimming. I know its alot to do with my dh travelling so much but I owed it to my dd to have a happier momma. The house isn't as clean as I'd like it but finally realized that doing something for myself benefits more than just me. My dh and dd have noticed the change and are glad I'm doing something for me. Most of us women (and men) need to realize that having a family doesn't mean we give all of ourselves over to others; it's ok to do things that make us smile.

Way to go Maureen. Good for you. I'm sure your little sweetie will also benefit from the kids to play with and some time away on her own.

I want to give up worrying about my family but that won't happen. I'd like to be more organized and that means staying off the computer more and cleaning and straightened the house more. :nah: So you haven't seem much of me lately? That's why. I've been organizing, ~big joke~ I'll never be organized as long as I live. :whacky: All kidding aside, I really need to get the clutter out my life, not just the material clutter but the mental clutter as well.

Jan do you have any chocolate left? I am going to need some after this week of Weight Watchers. :nah: I'm like the little train, I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

My self control with chocolate is legendary Susie, crisps are my downfall so I just don't buy them - until the weekend when the Doritos sing to me in the shop...
I need to lose the Christmas Flab - my aim is to lose 1/2 stone by my daughters wedding.(mid April) This should be attainable if I were to do anything constructive instead of just thinking about the aim.
