I am new here and posted in the General Sewing. I have looked for an oval rag rug pattern and have only found one at www.about.com. It seems a bit complicated. I have been crocheting for years, but I would like a pattern that is a bit more easy. Can anyone give me some ideas where to look? Thanks! |

www.google.com type in crocheted rag rug patterns, or change the wording and see what comes up. Chrys

when I search all over. The address: http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa100299.htm?nl=1 I guess if I cannot find another pattern I will have to copy and try to do this rug. I found one other on that dyi site, but I don't understand this: to accommodate the size. You must increase the same number of stitches at each end of the rug to keep a symmetrical oval shape. that is from this site..http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/lv_floors_ceilings/article/0,2041,DIY_14112_2269669,00.html I have tried increasing at the ends..2 single crochet in end, crochet one and then 2 single crochet..but it turned out to look like a football. Sigh. |

did not find a rag rug. I guess I will try the oval rag rug pattern at http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa100299.htm?nl=1 The first site http://www.staceyssimplestuff.com/ only offers rugs already made. |

Grammy Sherry, I have just what you are looking for. I went through a rug phase and did a lot of them. Send me a private email with your mailing address and I will send you a copy. Kitty3 |

and they are perfect! I tried to use the pattern from the www.about.com site, but gave up. I really appreciate your sending me the patterns for the oval rug and placemats. I can understand these directions. I can't wait to start them! |

Try this site http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/ This is one of my favorite crochet sites with loads of free patterns. It also has a search function so that you can type in rag rug and it will show you several. Good Luck! |

I wanted to send a picture but cannot make it small enough for attachments. But I will continue making things from the patterns you sent. I love them! |

Grammysherry, I am so glad you having fun. I love it too. I made hot pads with scrap rag material. They work like a charm. I had not made anything for a while, but getting it out to find my patterns made me pick it up again. So we are both having fun. Kitty3 |
