How do I machine baste on this sewing machine? I don't see any kind of information in the manual. Help please!! I'm trying to set up my center back zipper and want to machine baste instead of hand baste. My next step is to call the Kenmore customer assistance. I've got this in my head and want to figure it out. Yes, I know I'm probably driving myself crazy. My old Singer had numbers like 12 and 15 or even 8 but not this one.
Thank you for any advice!!
- Maureen.

there are two options on that series (1) set your stitch length on 4 and loosen your upper tension to about 2. This is give you a loose stitch 4mm long.
(2) Using a free motion embroidery foot, drop your feed dogs, lower the upper tension to 2 and move the fabric as you sew slowly. This will allow you to set your bastes at the distance you desire.
I'm sorry there isnt a better way to tell you but that series does not have a true automatic basting stitch. The second method works very well once you get the hang of it,
Have fun or don't do it, Tom
